The scenic 5-mile stretch known as “The Peninsula” has Newport Harbor – one of the world’s largest private yacht harbors – on one side and the flat, sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean on the other. The Peninsula is rich in Newport Beach history with its roots dating back to the late 1860’s. The Peninsula itself is home to two piers: Newport Pier and Balboa Pier. Parallel to the sand on the ocean side of the Peninsula is a 3.5 mile-long concrete boardwalk starting at 35th Street that goes all the way to the end of the Balboa Pier.
